Woody biomass may be sourced directly through harvesting dedicated forests, or through the collection of wood residue from sawmills, furniture factories, or even from waste of municipal tree trimming and removal.
The wood residues are often densified into pellets which is a crucial to converting the raw biomass into a more efficient and versatile form. These woody biomass are used in many applications and industries such as power generation where electricity is generated through the burning of wood pellets or used as fuel in gasification chambers. Wood pelleting plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable energy, reducing waste, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
Over the years, we have pelletized many species of wood such as Jabon, Sengon, Acacia, Sago, and many more. Each species of wood behaves differently. Hardwoods tend to be more difficult to pelletize compared to softwood as the lignin content, which is the natural binding agent, is lower. Every wood type brings its own unique characteristics to the table. Some are better for high-efficiency stoves, while others work well in large-scale biomass plants. But with the right preparation, i.e. proper drying, grinding, and pelletizing; almost any species can be turned into a usable, renewable fuel source.
When it comes to wood pellet production, bigger is better. In 2024, we built the largest wood pellet production plant in Indonesia, capable of producing 48 tons an hour of wood pellet.
This plant isn’t just another factory; it’s a biomass powerhouse, a game-changer in renewable energy, and a testament to our engineering excellence. With cutting-edge equipment and state-of-the-art automation, we’re churning out thousands of tons of premium-grade pellets daily, setting a new standard in the region for efficiency and output.
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us, it’s the foundation of everything we do. From sourcing to production to end-use, we’ve designed this plant to maximize efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. We didn’t just build the biggest pellet plant—we built the most sustainable one. Our commitment to responsible forestry, waste reduction, and energy efficiency makes this facility a model for the bioenergy industry.
